Once I was able to put my why into words, I knew I needed to build my business around this. Spoiler alert if you didn’t read my last post…HAPPINESS is my why.
I started by determining what key elements are necessary to my happiness and this applies to both my business and my life: Simplicity, Humor and Honesty. The task I thought was most important to start encompassing with my why was to redesign our logo and tagline. I knew our original logo would not be the final logo, but I wanted some time to get to know my business before I landed on something more permanent. Last fall I felt ready to make the change. I already had a picture in my mind, so I shared this with our graphic designer and she gave me several beautiful options to choose from. The tagline was the only element holding me up. I had a long list of options and the one I ultimately picked was pretty much the first one I came up with. Although it was not the favorite of my friends or family, it was the one that my brain stuck on. I had doubts about it and kept kind of grazing over it because I thought maybe it wasn’t “catchy”, or people wouldn’t get it. Every time I read it though, it made me giggle. So, I looked at my elements of happiness and found that it embodied everyone:
It’s Simple, It’s Funny, and It’s True. Whooola!
I had the tagline:
We make stepping in it less likely.
