Dear Finders of Joy,
Sometimes joy can come in the form of a handheld, battery operated device …
Joy can come in all shapes and sizes, and it doesn’t have to cost a thing. I mainly want to focus on the kind that is “free” in these blog posts. However, I’ve come across a couple things recently that have brought a great deal of joy to my day and I want to share those too.
I am not one to fall prey to gimmick-ey items. Occasionally, though, I will come upon something and it will nag at me until I buy it. You should know this about me – I am not a big spender. In fact, when I do spend money, I typically buy the cheapest option-even better if it’s used. If you were thinking dirty when you saw the opening of this letter, you are probably thinking-GROSS!
It’s likely you’ve seen ads pop up for these beauty wands that you rub over your face (yes, I said FACE-sorry to disappoint) and they vibrate and have like 7 lights that do all these different things … smooth wrinkles, get rid of that double chin, soften the look of blemishes – you know, make you look 10 years younger. Well, none of that is what attracted me to it. What attracted me to them is that they look like they feel really good on your face.
I gave in over the holiday weekend and took advantage of a sale and for $28 (the cheapest one I could find), I had one shipped to my home with the promise that if I did it for “JUST 10 minutes” two times a day that I’d look FABULOUS! Again, not caring so much about that-I just wanted the face massage.
LET ME TELL YOU! Worth every penny!!!! It feels wonderful.
It relaxes me before bed. I’m a jaw clencher and it softens my bite while it massages my face. It has a warming feature that feels great on my sinuses. I use breathing strips at night when I sleep to open up my nostrils and I haven’t needed them since using this.
I am horrible at remembering to wash my face before bed. Since you are supposed to do this with a clean, moisturized face,it has helped to keep me consistent in doing this before bed because I know I get a reward for doing it.
Now, it’s only been 7 days, but I have to say my face looks a little less tired. I can see some wrinkles softening – which may also be due to washing/moisturizing routine. They say you can see a difference after 2 weeks of regular use, but I have to say that I am fine with the result I am seeing no matter what the outcome is.
All I want to know now is whether or not they make a bigger version that you can run all over your body!
Remember – on the days when all you can seem to find are the crap piles-and there will be those days –
JUST STICK A FLOWER IN IT AND CALL IT A JOY PILE!
Joyfully yours,
