Looking for Piles of Joy Every Day

Dear Finders of Joy,

I’m always searching for something.  I suppose all of us are on the search for something-I mean besides our keys, glasses, and where we left our damn cell phone.  Something I’ve been looking for recently is how I want to leave my mark on my stay here on earth. I’m not planning on going anywhere anytime soon-at least I hope not. I think this particular search has to do with passing the 50-year mark. Whatever the reason, it’s been on my mind a lot.

In recent months, I’ve found myself journaling more consistently.  It started because memories from my childhood have been visiting me frequently. It seems everything I do brings back remembrance-camping, going for a walk, the way the wind blows. These memories come to me so clearly, and I want to remember them-especially if a time comes for me when I don’t remember anymore. I also keep a journal/calendar of sorts for my business, Boot Scoop Poopie, LLC (a dog waste scooper service).  I have since the beginning -jotting down significant moments in its growth.  I’m finding that my business’ life, and my personal life intertwine a lot more than I would have imagined. I shouldn’t be surprised since the main goal in my personal life is the same as what I do for a living – getting rid of the crap. I’d adopted the mantra, More Happy. Less Crappy., several years ago, and it’s something I put focus on each day.

I thought that since I am journaling both anyway, it would be a nice creative outlet for me to combine the two and start a blog of sorts. Perhaps it also will serve as a way for me to leave a splattering of myself here and there.

Searching has become a big part of my life since I started Boot Scoop Poopie, LLC … searching for piles that is. Being a dog waste scooper service-a lot of those piles are crap; but, I also spend a lot of time looking for piles of joy in my day. It’s the latter I’d like to share in these blogs. Joy piles, I’ll call them.  Yeah, I like that – joy piles.

Maybe you’ll see that some of these joy piles exist, or can exist, in your life. Maybe you’ll find a way to create some of your own.  I hope that reading my blog will also inspire you to share some of your day-to-day  joys with me too.

Some days those joy piles can be harder to find, and on days like that -maybe we can help each other find them.

As for the days when all you can seem to find are the crap piles-and there will be those days – JUST STICK A FLOWER IN IT AND CALL IT A JOY PILE!

Joyfully yours,

Amy Mc
